Easter Eggs with Decoupage Technique

Beautiful leftover napkins are everywhere in the house. I like to use decoupage technique to make things more personalized around me. This time I tried to decorate the Easter eggs with some napkins.

Things you will need:

  • Styrofoam eggs
  • Patterned paper napkins
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint (optional)
  • PVA craft glue or Mod Podge
  • Craft brushes (small and medium)
  • Brush container or bowl for glue

Instructions:

  1. If using PVA glue, squirt a small amount in a plastic container or bowl. Add about a tablespoon of water and mix to thin slightly.
  2. Optional: Cover entire egg with acrylic paint or glue. Let it dry.
  3. Trim loosely around the designs on the napkin using scissors. Separate printed top layer and discard lower sheets.
  4. Coat a small part of the egg with a very thin layer of glue using a small brush. Apply a cutout design to egg and smooth with brush. Let it dry. Repeat adding designs as desired.
  5. Apply glue with a medium brush to the entire egg to make it shiny and the design durable. Let dry.
