Rice Cake (gluten free)

This is a modified version of the original "Vargabéles", which is made from a lot of eggs and noodles with vanilla. If you like our recipes, you should definitely give this a try, it's amazing.


  • 700 ml milk of your choice
  • 100 ml water
  • 250 g basmati rice
  • sweetener of your choice
  • 8 eggs
  • 500 g low fat/lactose free curd cottage cheese
  • 50 g bourbon vanilla flavoured protein powder
  • dried cranberries/raisins (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 170 Celsius. 
  2. Add the milk and water into a saucepan and bring it to boil. Add in the rice, sweeten it and cook until soft. When ready, let it cool down completely.
  3. Separate the yolks from the whites, add the yolks into the cool rice along with the curd cheese and protein powder.
  4. Whip the egg whites, then mix into the rice mixture. Fold it into a pan.
  5. Bake it until the top layer is golden brown, it takes about 15 minutes.
  6. When ready, slice it up and serve it with home made apricot jam (it's the best) or some powdered sweetener.
