Floral Wreath: Ideas for the Front Door

Decoration ideas are not just always for the home, and it doesn't always have to be the bouquets against stress and for the joie de vivre.

Even the garden or the front door can be embellished with floral jewelry. If you don't have a balcony or garden, you can still bring nature home with a flower wreath for the door.

Shape, material and color

Wreaths can be mounted both inside and outside and make every front door an eye-catcher. Whether ring-shaped, oval or even heart-shaped. There are no limits to the imagination here. So the arrangements can be decorated with real flowers as well as with artificial deco elements. Depending on your preference, this can be delicate or rustic, colorful or monochrome.
They are usually bound with different materials such as branches, leaves, flowers and then embellished with accessories such as bows, ribbons, wooden figures, egg shells or lanterns. In addition to plant material also dried flowers, silk plants or artificial leaves can be used.

DIY and store bought

The door wreath can either be done by yourself, bought at the florist, or ordered online. These wreaths don't always have to be expensive and can be upgraded even after the purchase, for example with bows, ribbons or scraps.

Durability & Reuse

The decoration on the front door doesn't last forever, depending on the weather, components and season. Anyone who decides to use a wreath of dried branches or styrofoam as the base, can continue to use it later. Simply remove the dried flowers or the seasonal elements and change them later to new plants and decorative elements.

Instructions for a homemade floral wreath as an eye-catcher

You will need:
  • 1 straw wreath Branches, for example of boxwood or pussy willow
  • Craft wire
  • Flowers of your choice
  • Decoration material to taste, eg. small figures, nests and a small lantern
Instructions:
  1. Wrap the branches loosely around the wreath and fasten them with some craft wire.
  2. Decorate wreath as you like. Cut the flower stalks long enough to hold properly with the wire.
  3. Finally, a little lantern can also be placed in it, if the wreath is wide enough. This should be attached to the door, to prevent it from falling.
Tip: The base made of straw is durable and can be redecorated again in winter.
